The newly renovated space in this Shek Kip Mei appartment might look great in photos, clean and spacious. However it wasn't always like this. The space initially was relatively segmented with spaces not effectively utilised, knocking down walls in these types of apartments presents it's own challenges, with rerouting water and electricity lines as the baseline issues.
With the walls taken down, one of the first steps is re-routing all the electrical outlets, landlines, tv cables and ethernet cables to their respective rooms.
With the electrical wiring done, then we patched up the walls, you can see from the 'wet cement' work that the previous wall didn't exist and the doorway was added to partition the space effectively.
And just like that the walls are done!
